The iWA-450 is a lead-free wave soldering system for THT assemblies. It processes PCBs up to 450 mm wide with two solder waves.

Standard equipment

Selective spray fluxing

The speed and spray width of the servo-controlled fluxer are set in software. A PCB or carrier image serves as the background for programming spray areas.

Preheating

Top and bottom convection preheating prepares the assembly for the soldering process.

PCB transport

A titanium-finger conveyor inclined at 6° moves the assemblies through the system.

PC and PLC control

Operation is via a PC with an English-language Windows 11 interface and PLC control.

Weekly timer

Automatic start-up and shut-down as well as solder pre-melting can be scheduled.

Automatic fluxer cleaning

The spray fluxer is cleaned automatically.

Removable solder pot with trolley

The solder pot is removable. According to the manufacturer, the associated transport trolley is standard equipment.

Automatic solder-bar feed

An automatic solder-bar feeder is available as an option.

Nitrogen shielding

Direct nitrogen supply and a short tunnel are listed as options.

Inline nitrogen heater

Nitrogen heating can be added as an option.

iWA-450: Wave soldering processes through-hole joints in continuous flow. Suitability depends on layout, component placement and the assembly's thermal limits.

Application

Check solder access, clearances, panel or carrier dimensions and any required masking on a sample assembly.

Line integration

Define conveyor direction and height, required utilities and the handover to upstream and downstream equipment.

Limits and trial

Maximum conveyor width alone does not establish a suitable process window. Validate preheating, flux application and solder wetting on samples.
